So the peeps at Time Magazine put together a little list of the Top25 Sports Films of All Time.
I love a good sports movie. They usually make me cry; a lot. I also enjoy a good underdog story; the inspirational coach speech and watching people achieve their big goals. *cue collective aah* Sports movies generally have one of the above in. If not, they're bound to be an emotional story of crumbling dreams.
Needless, turns out the okes at Times like baseball and boxing movies. Highfive for the inclusion of a cricket movie (Lagaan) but I'm super saddened about the lack of rugga - clearly Eastwood and co weren't cool enough with Invictus (2009) so I may have to get on to that and make mine own. On a side note, Google tells me there's a 2008 film called Forever Strong starring the nerd from Gossip Girl, Penn Badgley. Huh, interesting stuff... I may just go check it out since it offers "stand up and cheer sports drama combined with the consequences of a strong ethical code to achieve victory on and off the field" (and cute boys playing rugby).
But I digress, here's that list (in Alphabetical order):
