Remember this one? Originally released in 1999 as the first single on David Gray's fourth studio album, White Ladder; it was re-issued two years later and peaked at #20 on the UK singles chart. Not surprisingly it's been on a host of soundtracks including The Girl Next-Door, Crazy/Beautiful, Wimbledon and Dawson's Creek. Gray even made an appearance in the film This Year's Love.
It's just a beautiful song, and makes me smile.
This years love had better lastHeaven knows it's high timeI've been waitin' on my own, too longAnd when ya hold me like you doIt feels so right, oh nowI start to forgetHow my heart gets tornWhen that hurt gets thrownFeelin' like you can't go on
Turning circles, time againCut like a knife, oh nowIf ya love me, got to know for sure'Cos it takes somethin' more this timeSweet, sweet lies, oh nowBefore I open up my arms and fallLosin' all controlEvery dream inside my soulWhen ya kiss meOn that midnight streetSweep me off my feetSingin' ain't this life so sweet
This years love, it better lastThis years love, it better last
'Cos whose to worryIf our hearts get tornWhen that hurt gets thrownDon't ya know this life goes onWon't ya kiss meOn that midnight streetSweep me off my feetSingin' ain't this life so sweet
This years love, it better lastThis years love, it better last
This years love, it better lastThis years love, it better last
This years love, it better lastOh, oh, oh, aah yeaThis years love, it better last
It's just a beautiful song, and makes me smile.
This years love had better lastHeaven knows it's high timeI've been waitin' on my own, too longAnd when ya hold me like you doIt feels so right, oh nowI start to forgetHow my heart gets tornWhen that hurt gets thrownFeelin' like you can't go on
