Tuesday Tune: Sugarland 'All I Wanna Do'

The boy with blue eyes gets to Cape Town tomorrow. That is all.

I don't want to get up baby, let's turn off the phone
I don't want to go to work today, or even put my make-up on
I've got better things to do than my to-do list anyway
Hide under the covers and waste away the day
Let's just lay here and be lazy, baby drive me crazy

All I wanna do wo wo wo woo...
All I wanna do wo wo wo woo... is love you

I got my whole life to change the world and climb the ladders
Looking at you looking at me is the only thing that matters
Come a little closer baby, we can talk without the words
Hang a sign on the door, please do not disturb
Let's just lay here and be lazy, baby drive me crazy

All I wanna do wo wo wo woo..
All I wanna do wo wo wo woo.. is love you

Give me a kiss, from that Elvis lip
You don't want to miss this

All I wanna do wo wo wo woo...
All I wanna do wo wo wo woo... is love you
All I really want to do
All I really want to do
All I really want to do, is love you, love you, love you

Come a little closer baby, we can talk without the words
Hang a sign on the door, please do not, please do not, please do not,
Please do not disturb

When I lay down in the evening, all I really want to do
When I wake up, when I wake up in the morning baby,
All I really wanna do...

TuesdayTune: Noah & the Whale 'Five Years Time'

Noah & the Whale are an English Indie band from Twickenham formed in 2006 and are named after film director Noah Baumbach and his film The Squid and the Whale

This music video has the most awesome 70s home video vibe to it, and the song is pretty darn rad too.
Oh well, in five years time we could be walking round a zooWith the sun shining down over me and youAnd there’ll be love in the bodies of the elephants tooAnd I’ll put my hand over your eyes but you’ll peek through

And there’ll be sun, sun, sun all over our bodiesAnd sun, sun, sun all down our necksAnd there’ll be sun, sun, sun all over our facesAnd sun, sun, sun, so what the heck?

'Cause we’ll be laughing at all your silly little jokesAnd we’ll be laughing about how we used to smokeAll those stupid little cigarettes and drink stupid wine'Cause it’s what we needed to have a good time

But it was fun, fun, fun when we were drinkingIt was fun, fun, fun when we were drunkAnd it was fun, fun, fun when we were laughingIt was fun, fun, fun, oh, it was fun

Oh well, I look at you and say it's the happiest that I’ve ever beenAnd I’ll say I no longer feel I have to be James DeanAnd she’d say, yeah well, I feel pretty a happy tooAnd I’m always pretty happy when I’m just kicking back with you

And it’ll be love, love, love all through our bodiesAnd love, love, love all through our mindsAnd it'll be love, love, love all over her faceAnd love, love, love all over mine

And though it's nearly all these moments are just in my headI’ll be thinking ‘bout them as I’m lying in bedAnd I know that it nearly that it might not even come trueBut in my mind I’m havin’ a pretty good time with you

Oh, in five years time I might not know youIn five years time we might not speakOh, in five years time we might not get alongIn five years time you might just prove me wrong

Oh, there’ll be love, love, love wherever you goThere’ll be love, love, love wherever you goThere’ll be love, love, love wherever you goThere’ll be love, love, love wherever you go

There’ll be love, love, love wherever you goThere’ll be love, love, love wherever you goThere’ll be love, love, love wherever you goThere’ll be love, love, love wherever you goThere’ll be love

Tuesday Tunes: Eliza Doolittle 'Skinny Genes'

This song makes me want to silly smile with a naughty glint in my eyes. It's quirky and cool in the best of ways. How could I not like a singer with 'Eliza Doolittle' as a stage name (if you are missing the literary and musical reference take a gander here). The British singer-songwriter was born Eliza Sophie Caird in 1988 (what a fab year to be born!) and released her debut self-titled album on 12 July 2010. Her parents are both thespians / musicians and she chose 'Eliza Doolittle' as her stagename as it was her nickname as a child.

This is a live acoustic version of her track'Skinny Genes'
I really don't like your point of viewI know you'll never changeStinging me with your attitudeI've got the mind to walk away

I really don't like your arroganceOr your policiesYou're ninety-nine percent an embarrassmentOf just wrong qualities

[Chorus:]I don't mind it when you [whistles]Brings out the best in me when you [whistles]Show your expertiseWhen the night always ends with a fight I'm excitedWhen you wind up next to me

I like it when you [whistles]Can I have some please of that [whistles]Satisfy my needsSometimes I fake that I hate you and make upAnd you wind up next to me

I really don't like your skinny jeansSo take them off for meShow me what you've got underneathSo we can do this properly

I really don't like the way you smileWhen you think you're rightBut I will forgive you, the yoke is in the middleAnd I'm chewing through the white

[Chorus]

I dreamt that you were on a trainAnd you were leaving, you were leavingYou made me think of what I'd missDo you believe it, you believe it

I don't mind it when you [whistles]Brings out the best in me when you [whistles]Show your expertiseWhen the night always ends with a fight I'm excitedWhen you wind up next to me

I like it when you [whistles]Can I have some please of thatTake off your skinny jeansSometimes I fake that I hate you and make upAnd you wind up next to me

I dreamed that you were on a trainAnd you were leaving, you were leaving

Tribeca

Down the main road, along the seaside, within a little fishing village of a Cape Town suburb known as Kalk Bay, lies my favourite coffee shop / bakery Tribeca. The lattes come in huge soup bowl sized cups and the coffee apparently has been voted 'Top 3 in SA'. Which I won't care to argue too much over, as it really is good coffee. Says me; confessed coffee snob.

They also potentially make my favourite Eggs Benedict. I say this with caution, but as Eggs Benedict is my absolute favourite breakfast, I've sampled a good many varieties, and Tribeca's is pretty darn wonderful. Also, I always have salmon with my EB - can't skimp on the Omega-3 now kids (and it just tastes so. darn. good).

One can imagine my absolute delight when Tribeca opened a store one block away from me. Yes, I can WALK to Tribeca now. Or take a bike (when it doesn't have a flat). Or have people pick me up from when I have convinced them to join me. There is also a third store not particularly far from me either. So now one can find a Tribeca in Kalk Bay, Bergvliet and Tokai. But that's not all folks: because there's a little Tribakery vibe in the new Blue Route Mall. Lovely.

We also like it because they donate all their day olds to a local schools feeding program, and they have free Wi-Fi.Everyone likes free Wi-Fi.

There is currently a R25 coffee and cake special on Mon - Fri from 2pm. On Sat (when I last popped in) there was White Chocolate Cheesecake and Red Velvet Cheesecake. Too much of goodness. And if you're wondering about the name: yes, it IS named after the area in New York City and is filled with gorgeous New York pictures. Perfection.

Happy Monday Morning!

Try not procrastinate TOO much guys...

In a previous life...

Found this random little piece of silliness on the interwebs and OBVIOUSLY googled as directed :P
Seems I was a Welsh pro-footballer (Elfred Evans). Go figure.

And then I couldn't resist looking at the rest of the Blondes...
The CEO was an Austrian zoologist, ethologist, and ornithologist (Konrad Lorenz).
Mizz Honey was a Major League Baseball Pitcher (Rick Anderson)
Dr Lem was an American artist who began as a graffiti artist and transitioned into a Neo-Expressionist painter.

So, now you know.

Tuesday Tune: Plush 'Erla'

This song is a few years old, but a continuous favourite from an awesome South African band Plush. It's the kind of song one wishes a delightful boy would write about one.

I can't lie to myself anymore
Cause I can't convince myself that
Losing you won't be painful
Cos God only knows
There's only so much I can tolerate
Here we go

I'm falling for you to realise the situation
No I, can't let you go beneath my skin
Cause I'm weakening and not that strong

I can't lie to myself anymore
Lost all my hesitance
Oh Erla I'm all yours
Now don't go paddling away from me
Cause there are no more fish in the sea
Here we go

I'm falling for you to realise the situation
No I, can't let you go beneath my skin
Cause I'm weakening and not that strong

Oh, I can't lie to myself anymore
Oh, I try to prove you wrong
but these forces, they are way too strong
Cause I, can't let you go
No I, I can't let, you
I can't let you go
I can't let you go

Won't you stay with me
Oh yeah, won't you stay with me, forever
This is gonna last forever
Cause I'm falling for you
I'm falling for you
I'm falling for you
I'm falling for you
