I'll go out there and make mistakes. I'll fall down, get hurt, cry, laugh, love, and get back up. I'll stand on the highest mountain top and go into the deepest caverns. I'll roam across the world, visit the moon and swim in out of space. I'll let my imagination run wild and let my spirit soar. Why? Because when my life flashes before my eyes in those final moments, I want to have something worthwhile to watch, with plenty of love and laughter, good times and bad. I don't want to regret a thing, and I plan not to. Remember, it's not usually the things you do that you regret, it's the things you don't do and leave unsaid. Laugh out loud. Cry in the rain. Love with all your heart and soul. Get hurt. Tell the truth. Go crazy. But never forget that you only get one shot. One shot at this day. One shot at this minute. One shot at this age. One shot at life. So make sure your life is one that you will enjoy watching in your final moments. - ANNA FLOYD
The Breaking of this Ikey Heart
Round 4 of Varsity Cup was played this week, and my beloved Ikey Tigers (the defending champions) are having a bit of a rough season with only 1 win from 4 games :(

Tuesday Tunes: Ukulele Cover of Billie Jean
I have a little crush on the ukulele at present *blushes*
Here's a guy called James Hill performing a cover of MJ's 'Billie Jean' at the Uke Fest 2010 in Dusty Springs, Seattle, Washington. It's a vibe. He's gooood.

"I think you find your own way. You have your own rules. You have your own understanding of yourself, and that's what you're going to count on. In the end, it's what feels right to you. Not what your mother told you. Not what some actress told you. Not what anybody else told you but the still, small voice." - Meryl Streep

What's wrong with the Ikey Tigers?
Wrote my first little scribble for www.whocsoc.com - they're a rad Cape Town based student website. I'm going to be doing a bit of sports writing for them...

Miss Earth South Africa 2012: Entries Open
I was the first runner-up in Miss Earth South Africa 2008. It was an absolutely incredible experience; I'm still somewhat involved with the organisation and the work they do is just awesome. I did a lot of environmental education in schools, I wrote and performed some green children's theatre and as a student leader at UCT sat on the university's Environmental Management Working Group. If you're passionate about the earth, want to challenge yourself and have an amazing and fulfilling time whilst learning SO much, consider entering. Entries close 15 March 2012. Visit www.missearthsa.co.za for more info, or download your entry form here.

Tuesday Tune: Sara Bareilles live cover of 'Little Lion Man'
Convinced that Sara Bareilles is the queen of awesome covers. Here's her covering Mumford and Son's big folk hit 'Little Lion Man' at her concert on 17 April 2011 in Buffalo, New York.

Varsity Cup kickoff
Whoop whoop! My fave rugby competition, the Varsity Cup kicks off tonight on UCT's homeground 'The Green Mile'. I will be there, in my shirt, but with pants, duh.
And if you have no idea what I'm on about, go check out the preview I wrote for www.theyellowcap.com

Cape Town Tens
For those of you confused by what I meant when I said I was going to Cape Town Tens, this little video shows the vibe. Thankfully I was in a VIP air-conditioned tent, and not running around getting tackled in plus 30 degree weather!
Also, I only went on day 2, so did not feel like any of the okes in this second video...

Tomboy in Lace
Without giving out my entire life story, it suffices to say that I am quite the sports (read rugby) fan. I'm doing a bit here and there in sports media, and www.theyellowcap.com is a sports site I've just begun writing for. First scribbling of mine on there is just a lil reminder about Cape Town Tens this weekend, heading off there now myself I hope to see you all there for some Mother City vibes :)

Can I please age this well...
Can we all please take a moment to acknowledge how amazing Gwyneth Paltrow looks? I mean the woman has 2 kids and is turning 40 this year; she is doing well.
Someone once told me: Every song has an ending, but is that reason not to enjoy the music? - Peyton, One Tree Hill
Anything But Ordinary - Avril Lavigne
Hmm, hmm, hmm
Hmm, hmm, hmm
Sometimes I get so weird
I even freak myself out
I laugh myself to sleep it's my lullaby
Sometimes I drive so fast
Just to feel the danger
I want to scream to make me feel alive
Is it enough to love?
Is it enough to breathe?
Somebody rip my heart out
And leave me here to bleed.
Is it enough to die?
Somebody save my life
I'd rather be anything but ordinary please
To walk within the lines
Would make my life so borin'
I want to know that I have been
To the extreme
(I feel)
So knock me off my feet
(I feel)
Come on now, give it to me
(Ooh)
Anything to make me feel alive
Is it enough to love?
Is it enough to breathe?
Somebody rip my heart out
And leave me here to bleed
Is it enough to die?
Somebody save my life
I'd rather be anything but ordinary please
I'd rather be anything but ordinary please
Let down your defenses
Use no common sense
If you look, you will see
That this world is a beautiful, accident
(La, la, la, la)
Turbulent, succulent, opulent,
Permanent, no way
(La, la, la)
I wanna taste it
Don't wanna waste it away yeah yeah
Sometimes I get so weird
I even freak myself out
I laugh myself to sleep it's my lullaby
Is it enough?
Is it enough?
Is it enough to breathe?
Somebody rip my heart out
And leave me here to bleed

Humpday Hottie: Matt Bomer
Mizz Honey told me to watch 'White Collar' a while ago and it took me until recently to heed her advice - OMG, why didn't I listen to her sooner?! (This goes for many things beyond great television suggestions).
Anyhoo, if you haven't yet caught an episode, perhaps you've watched Chuck and remember Bryce Larkin? He is one and the same. Matt Bomer. Matt's a great name, this one has distractingly blue eyes and a smile that will melt the heart of the iciest princess (Go figure). Born in Texas in 1977, he studied drama at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania before moving to the Big Apple (where White Collar is set and where I am determined to live at some point).
But wait there's more! Matt is one of the strippers in Magic Mike due out this year (remember them?) and has just been cast to guest star in Glee as Blaine's brother. Yes. This year we will bear witness to Matt dancing (ok, fine stripping whatever) and singing! Oh happy days. And Happy Humpday!
